Dr. James Hill

Dr. James W. Hill was born and raised in Madison. After graduating from Madison West High School, he studied philosophy and theology at Marquette University in Milwaukee. Not suited for the priesthood, Dr. Hill decided to enter the dental field upon receiving his undergraduate degree. He attended the School of Dentistry at the University of Minnesota where he earned his doctorate of dental surgery in 1977. Dr. Hill established a private practice in Madison and became a consultant to the State of Wisconsin on treating children in institutionalized settings.

Dr. Hill is proud to be a preceptor for the Bale/Doneen technique of preventing heart attacks, strokes, and diabetes. In keeping with the practice’s philosophy, Dr. Hill has pursued a great deal of continuing education in the areas of reconstruction of complex cases, TMJ disorder and implants. He is a Fellow of The American Dental Implant Association, holds Fellowship status in the Institute for Advanced Laser Dentistry and is on the Advisory Board of The Academy of Comprehensive Esthetics. Understanding that Cosmetic Dentistry is very closely related to the art of Facial Esthetics, he is also a Member of The Academy of Facial Esthetics and is able to provide Botox and Dermal Fillers to his patients. He also holds a master’s degree in administrative medicine and a fellowship at the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Hill served on the Board of Trustees for the Madison Country Day School, Evergreen State Bank, and Stoughton Investments of Nevada and currently serves on the Board of Vilas Zoo.

Jim and his wife Rebecca live in Baraboo where they nurture four children and enjoy tennis and golf, and participate in volunteer efforts.

Dr. Amy SeargeantDr. Sergeant

Dr. Amy Sergeant grew up in Iowa and graduated with distinction from Iowa State University with a bachelor’s degree in nutrition. She then completed an internship, combined with graduate studies in nutrition, at the University of Minnesota Hospital and Clinics. After practicing as a Registered Dietitian at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for four years, she decided to pursue a career in dentistry and attended the University of Iowa – College of Dentistry. After receiving her doctorate of dental surgery in 2001, she completed a general practice residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and the VA Medical Center in Iowa City.

Dr. Sergeant has been in practice since 2001 and enjoys treating patients of all ages at both Cottage Grove and Madison offices and is a Delta Dental premiere provider. Dr. Sergeant enjoys spending time with her adorable pug-mixes, Bella, Maisy and Emmi. Over the years she has been very actively involved in dog rescue and has placed over 450 dogs in their forever homes!

When not helping patients achieve beautiful smiles, Dr. Amy loves to spend time with friends enjoying all that Madison has to offer and traveling to see her friends in Colorado where she enjoys skiing and hiking in the mountains.

Dr. Sergeant is a member of the Seattle Study Club of Madison which embraces an interdisciplinary approach to provide optimal patient care.

Dr. Edwin BatchelorDr. Batchelor

Dr. Edwin Batchelor brings a wealth of experience with him, including his education at the United States Air Force Academy, Southeast Missouri State University, and the University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Dentistry. After receiving his doctorate of dental surgery in 1986, Dr. Batchelor served as a dental officer in the U.S. Naval Dental Corps. He later attended a two-year, hospital-based residency in general practice and periodontist/implants at the National Naval Dental Center at Bethesda, Maryland.

There, he served patients from the armed services, U.S. Cabinet, and Congress. Dr. Batchelor is certified in oral conscious sedation and is a certified hypnotherapist. He provides comprehensive care for those who are unable to tolerate dental procedures with simple local anesthesia. Dr. Batchelor has lived in Madison since 1997 and is a member of the board of directors for the Wisconsin Academy of General Dentistry and is a Fellow of the American Dental Implant Association. He practices at our Madison and Cottage Grove offices and is a Delta Dental premiere provider.
